Yay~ So I have moved into my new apartment, and it so cute and right for me. However, how do you help your kitties adjust to your and their new home? What I do is keep them in only one, larger room in the new place with their litter box, food, water, and some familiar toys. Strangely, my cats most enjoy sleeping on towels, even ones still damp from a shower, so I lay one, folded, on the floor of an dark, open closet in the room. The two little ladies cuddle up to the familiar scent and, before long (just an hour or so), they are ready to explore the whole place. I think it is like a security blanket, it gives them comfort. I never move my furniture while they are in the room either, it is just too scary for them... hehe, I would be nervous, too. (^^) It's always good to make sure they have a place to hide out in during their first hours, or day, in their new home. I know you want them to look comfortable and normal the minute they are set loose but, if you give them space, they'll treat your new home as theirs soon enough.

"Kyou Koi wo Hajimemasu" Ch. 30

Wow, I absolutely love the way this chapter has been drawn. It felt, to me, as if the facial expressions and drama were a lot better depicted than the last few chapters.

I've already given up on this main character. It's a complete toss-up on how the series is going to wrap up. But, if they have sex, isn't the whole series done? It's mostly pathetic that the whole story is now revolving entirely around that "if." This girl is having a hilariously dumb internal struggle. I mean, if she wants it so bad she can't even think straight around her boyfriend, hasn't she already lost her own war for virginity? Her only real argument against sex is that it should be used only for procreation! Wow, if I forced her to read some Robert A. Heinlein, she would short-circuit.

I just realized that I actually like this series and it's because of all its stupidity.

edit;;

Wow, the new chapter (Ch. 31) gets a thumbs up from me~! Thanks for not letting us down, Kyouta~. (Hibino is still the total let-down though.)

I feel as if I have been misled.

Growing up, I always believed that shoujo ("girl") manga was filled with soft, gentle, and idealistic love stories of lovely girls-next-door and their beautiful male lovers. The reason I believed this stemmed almost entirely from watching the extra episode of the Tenchi Muyo! OVA series, "The Night Before the Carnival." In this episode, Tenchi's leading ladies stumble across a collection of shoujo manga belonging to Tenchi's father. Because Tenchi's father was a notorious lecher in the series, this left me confused. (I had previously equated the genre to Sailor Moon, out of ignorance.) The girls spend the entire episode using sly tricks to get his attention, about the same as that old timey cliche of a girl dropping her hankerchief and the man picking it up for her, catching her fragrance from it, and falling in love with her when their eyes meet.

*rolls eyes*

So, based on this episode, I wrote shoujo manga off in my mind as an entire genre devoted to girls' failing in love due to their own schemeing ways, and maybe finally getting the boy in the end when they get convinced to play it fair. I wondered how mangaka could keep inventing new tactics to keep their own genre from getting too boring.... =\ -?

Yes, yes, I seem to have been mistaken.

Every shoujo manga I have read has been very smutty. =O Maybe, I am just having terrible luck in my search. It's like, these manga I read have very interesting plotlines, but then they throw in near-rape like situations in every chapter. (NO JOKE.) And it is the main love interest doing such a despicable thing, too. It just seems like the predominating trend with every different shoujo manga I pick up. The whole "rape fantasy" thing feels so out-of-place in these stories (like, Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu) where the leading man is so sweet, adoring and pampering to the leading lady in some scenes and then so heartless in others, humiliating her through sexual, verbal, or physical harassment. In Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu, the main love interest dumped his beer out on the top of her head at the abrupt end of their date, just so she would have to return home that way in shame. He also called her an "eye sore," on several occasions, when she fought back against his sexual assaults. And he is supposed to be the hottest, coolest guy in school? As if.

maid-fetish in a girl's series? huh? =S

I wish a shoujo manga veteran could enlighten me about this genre. Maybe, there is a sub-genre that is free of the molestation scenes? Or maybe I have just had the misfortune of picking up only manga from a sub-genre that specializes in such scenes? I am really bewildered, and disturbed, at this point.

my thoughts exactly, oji-sama. O.o

Well, I know with a name like Desire Climax, that it probably.. eventually would have something lusty in it, but honestly, I thought that the name meant a steady build up of love, emotions, and passion that is finally satisfied at the end of the series. ;_; I swear to god, that's what I thought. Oh, I am misled, so misled...

I really do like one moment though, from that series. *_* How, whenever she takes his glasses off, he can't keep his cool demeanor and blushes profusely. It's so CUTE! & the fact that he wears fake glasses over his contacts, solely in secret anticipation that she might do it again, is...  oh, it just feels so romantic.~

*sigh*~ Final note:
I love cute and romantic scenes. I do not like those scenes thrown into a blender with unsettling, S&M ones!

God, this episode makes me so sad.  I cried like a baby after its shocking ending. :\ It hit far too close to home for me, and I still skip most of the "Shouji" episodes whenever I re-watch the series. (Shouji even looks/dresses/acts like him.)

Up until that final moment, I had thought Sachiko was as innocent and perfect as Shouji kept depicting her, so she was a rival in love to the imperfect, but affectionate, Hachi. Then, when she admitted, "I did it on purpose," and it was just what Shouji wanted to hear, I realized Shouji and Sachiko were too much alike. I also never noticed how poorly Hachi and him were matched together until then.

However, those are not excuses for how he handled his situation. After their long term relationship, he should have been a man in the end, not a cowardly little boy. These first episodes are almost unbearable, because Hachi is so naive and ridiculous in them. Shouji's cheating does lead her to becoming a more faithful, loyal woman though. (example) Not the most, though. I wonder if she truly will divorce the estranged Takumi.

"a little pain"

Written by: Olivia Lufkin
Translated (poorly) by: Me

TRAVEL TO THE MOON
君は眠り 夢を解く
誰もいない 星の光 操りながら
強くなるため 忘れた笑顔
きっと二人なら 取り戻す

Travel to the moon.
Asleep, your dreams can be untied.
No one's around as the starlight controls me.
To become strong, I know we must
Together bring back our forgotten smiles.

気づいて
I'M HERE WAITING FOR YOU
今とは違う未来があっても
I'M HERE WAITING FOR YOU
叫び続けて
きっと心は つなぐ糸をたぐってる
あの頃の私 目を覚ますように
NO NEED TO CRY
Realize
I'm here, waiting for you.
And we can meet a future different from now.
I'm here, waiting for you.
Scream on.
Surely, our hearts are pulling at their binding thread.
It seems the me from then has awakened.
No need to cry...

TRAVEL IN SILENCE
手をのばせば 触れるのに
君は遠い それは 思い出の中のこと
声が聞こえる 目を閉じれば
小さな痛みさえ いとしくて

Travel in silence.
Although I can feel you with an outstretched hand,
You are far away, that's something in my memories.
I can hear your voice if I close my eyes.
A little pain, even, is precious.

見つめて
I'M HERE WAITING FOR YOU
風に吹かれ 一人迷っても
I'M HERE WAITING FOR YOU
空を見上げて
ずっと心は 手を広げて守ってる
あの頃の君が 振り返るまで
NO NEED TO CRY

Look closely.
I'm here, waiting for you,
And, alone we are lost, blown by the wind.
I'm here, waiting for you.
Raise your eyes to the sky.
Always will my protecting heart have arms wide open,
Until the you from then looks back.
No need to cry...

Feel something  Wide open ears
Feel nothing   Disarm the dream tickler
Listen closely  In the constant moment.
Listen closely
You will find me Let the blood flow
Where it's quiet Through all the spaces
Listen closely   Of the universe.
Listen closely
